Speaking ahead of the annual celebration, Kate said: “St Patrick’s Day is a wonderful time to celebrate our national Saint, but it’s important to do so in a way that respects our neighbours and does not cause unnecessary disruption.

“Across the world millions of people will be celebrating their Irish heritage and culture. I hope that across Northern Ireland, we too can celebrate our heritage, our music, and our culture peacefully and respectfully.

“Let’s make St Patrick’s Day 2023 memorable for the many positive things we have to celebrate in our community.”
