Mr Muir has said: “I am proud to call North Down my home and to have had the honour of being a representative in the area for over fifteen years.
“It has also been a privilege to serve as Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, ensuring that our environment is properly prioritised. I am proud of my record, from working to turn the tide on water quality at Lough Neagh and Belfast Lough, putting nature on the path to recovery, grasping the opportunities of climate action, getting farming on a firm and sustainable footing, and strengthening protections for our pets.
“People in North Down deserve this kind of delivery, not the division and dysfunction pushed by others, who deliberately deflect from the day-to-day issues facing households. That is what we stand for and what we will campaign on."
Ms Egan added: “It’s been an incredible privilege to have been able to serve the people of this constituency for the last number of years. I am proud to have been a consistent champion for ending violence against women and girls, expanding integrated education in North Down, and delivering better for everyone in the constituency, but there is a lot more we want to achieve and much more work to be done.
"Our vision for Northern Ireland is one where people get the healthcare they need, life is made more affordable for families and communities, everyone in society is safe, and our people and environment are flourishing. All of this must be underpinned by a reformed Stormont where the culture of standoff and stalemate and the cycle of crisis and collapse is ended for good.
“Next May, we have the opportunity to fix our broken politics, reject tribal politics, and help build a shared, ambitious, more sustainable future for everyone in Northern Ireland. That’s the kind of representation we in Alliance want to provide, and in this upcoming election we have the chance to deliver it.”
