"The TUV have spent the last number of weeks lecturing others about the rule of law, and yet they have now chosen to withdraw from the very forums designed to help people work with the PSNI to enhance safety in their area. Policing and Community Safety Partnerships (PCSPs) are important bodies for local communities and their elected representative to work together to raise issues and solve problems in their community.
"While the TUV continue to push their irresponsible agenda of undermining confidence in the Chief Constable, this action simply punishes local communities and local PSNI officers who are trying their best in very difficult circumstances to engage and work together on solutions to shared problems.
"This decision demonstrates that the TUV are not serious about solving problems and are intent on scoring political points at the expense of the PSNI. Shame on any elected representative who would choose to be so opportunistic and act with such callousness.
"The Alliance Party respects and works in good faith through PCSPs to improve community safety and will continue to do so, even if others shirk that responsibility."
