It comes after the Health Minister announced the establishment of a Neurology Delivery Team alongside £2.3 million of additional recurrent funding to increase neurology capacity and reduce waiting lists.
Mr McReynolds has said: "Today’s announcement, whilst welcome, raises bigger questions about funding for Neurology Services in Northern Ireland.
"The Department’s own Regional Review of Neurology stated the full implementation of the recommendations would require over £65m of additional funding in its first five years of implementation and yet the Minister has announced that just £2.3m has been allocated.
"Last month, I stood with the Northern Ireland Neurological Charities Alliance for the launch of their report ‘Left Behind: The Price of Inaction on Neurology Reform’ where they highlighted that the failure to reform neurology services is costing Northern Ireland nearly £870 million per year.
"While all funding is welcome, it is clear this is nowhere near enough.
"The Minister needs to urgently take action to ensure a fully funded, functional, and effective service without delay for people across Northern Ireland requiring neurological support."
