The attack resulted in a small fire, but there were no reported injuries or serious damage caused.
Mr Muir has said: “It is deeply disappointing to hear of this kind of incident taking place, especially during the festive period.
“What we’ve seen here is incredibly unnerving, and whilst we have to be glad no one was hurt and no property was damaged, the actions of those responsible are reprehensible and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. There is simply no place for this kind of reckless, disruptive behaviour in our community, which achieves nothing other than striking fear into local residents.
“I’d urge anyone with any potentially relevant information which could help in ensuring the perpetrators see justice to contact the PSNI as soon as possible, or report it anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
