It has since been confirmed a number of suspicious devices found at the property in question were viable.
Cllr McDonough-Brown has said: “This is incredibly sinister and will no doubt have caused a great deal of distress in the local community, particularly to those who were forced to evacuate their homes.
“Given that we now know a number of the devices were in fact viable, it’s clear that those responsible have absolutely no regard or concern for the safety and well-being of those living around them in the area. We can only be thankful nobody was hurt and that the worst outcome for local residents was disruption when having to evacuate, but it could very easily have been a different story.
“I want to extend my thanks to the PSNI for their quick and diligent work in making the area safe for people to return, and encourage anyone who has any information that may be relevant to police in their investigations to get in touch with them as soon as possible.”
