The Inspire Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the contributions of inspirational young people from across East Belfast to their local community.
The Titanic Councillor has said: “When I became High Sheriff, one of the things I was most excited to get to do was host the Inspire Awards, and it’s a privilege to be able to celebrate the achievements of so many talented, inspirational young people in our community. I’m grateful to have had the chance to witness their dedication, resilience, and passion first hand and the immensely positive impact their hard work and leadership has had.
“None of this would be possible, however, without the youth workers, volunteers, the Youth Strategy Group, the East Belfast Youth Practitioners Forum, and all the community groups who support our young people every single day, and whose tireless work provides guidance, support, and opportunities for young people across East Belfast.
“The success stories we’re celebrating are a clear example of what happens when young people are given the right opportunities and encouragement; putting them at the centre of decision-making, with access to education, employment, and the support they need to succeed.
“They show us that when we invest in our youth, we invest in a brighter, more inclusive Belfast, where everyone has the chance to succeed.”
