The Proposed bill aims to generate millions of pounds in additional funding for good causes across Northern Ireland each year.

The charity sector in Northern Ireland is under immense pressure. EU funding has ended, public funding is strained, and charities are seeing a surge in demand due to the cost-of-living crisis and other societal challenges. Many charities are stepping in to address issues that would otherwise require government intervention.

By allowing large society charity lotteries from both Great Britain and Northern Ireland to operate here in Northern Ireland, we can unlock significant financial support for charities and organisations.

It is time Northern Ireland was able to benefit from this opportunity and that we strengthened our ability to support the charities and community groups that mean so much to us all.
