It’s been reported that police were called to the incident at a property in the Breton Court area of the city shortly before 1.30am this morning (11 Aug).
Mr Honeyford has said: “To hear that this kind of attack has been carried out in our community under any circumstances is nothing short of shocking and appalling.
“There is absolutely no place for this kind of violence here. Those responsible offer nothing to Lisburn and the people who live here other than distress and disruption.
“People have the right to feel safe in their homes. Thankfully nobody, either in the property or in the vicinity, was injured in this case, but the consequences could very well have been devastating.
“I’d urge anyone with information that could help the police in their investigations to report it, either directly to the PSNI or anonymously via Crimestoppers, and help get those responsible off our streets.”
