This morning (Monday 18 September) the PSNI have appealed for information following reports of a petrol bomb being thrown at a property on Skipperstone Road in Bangor the previous night, causing significant damage to the property. The two people inside the property at the time were thankfully physically unharmed, though were left badly shaken.

“I am shocked and incredibly concerned at the reports emerging from the PSNI this morning. Behaviour of this kind has absolutely no place within our local community, and I strongly condemn this serious act of violence and intimidation without hesitation,” said Ms Egan.

“My thoughts and sympathies are with the victims of this attack, which was no doubt a terrifying ordeal, and I hope they are getting all the help and support they need at this difficult time.

“I would also like to thank the emergency services who responded swiftly and professionally to this incident, ensuring the two victims who were within the property at the time of the attack were thankfully left physically unharmed, despite being badly shaken.

“It is vital that everyone across our community feels safe in their homes, and that those who show such a severe lack of respect for the rule of law are held accountable for their actions.

"I would urge anyone with any relevant information on this incident to report it to the PSNI via 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers, quoting reference number 1806.”
