It was announced today (6 March) in a statement from the Executive Office that Siobhan Casey has been appointed, and will take up the position from 7 April.

The East Antrim MLA, who is also a member of the All Party Group on Ageing and Older People, has said: “Older people play a vital role in our society, their contributions making a positive impact in no shortage of ways within public life.

“They also face unique challenges, however, for which they deserve all the support and resources they require in order to continue living full, dynamic, and empowered lives.

“In her career up to this point, Ms Casey has been a passionate advocate for older people and clearly demonstrated her commitment to effectively championing their needs. I wish her well in her new role, and look forward to hearing from her at future Executive Office Committee meetings.”
