Shortly before 10:35 pm last night (15 August 2025), a man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s were hit by a car, which didn't stop at the scene.
The hit-and-run resulted in the death of a man in his 50s and the injury of a woman in her 40s, who remains in hospital following her injuries.
“This is a deeply shocking and sad event,” said the Ballyclare councillor.
"I offer my sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, and I wish the injured woman a full and speedy recovery. There is a sense of shock in the wider Ballyclare community upon hearing this tragic news.
"For anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the incident, please come forward and share any information you may have with the police."
