Alliance has welcomed the announcement from the Mayor's Office this morning, that a Special Council Meeting will be held later in July to discuss the findings of the Department For Communities' Audit into land sales in the Borough. 

Councillor Chris McCaw, Alliance councillor for the Causeway Area, said "I am very disappointed and shocked to read this report .We need to act urgently to implement all the recommendations made. The last independent report we had into officers' conduct was effectively largely ignored. We cannot do that this time. 

All councillors, from all parties and none, need to work together to restore the public's confidence in our Council. It should be no surprise that we are already one of the most unpopular council's with the people we represent. We owe it to them to deliver better."

Alliance MLAs will also be submitting questions to Ministers on the issue.
