During the early hours of this morning, multiple shots were fired at a house in the St John’s Place area of Larne. Soon after, a car was set on fire near the Hampton Crescent area, trapping five people inside a property.
Mr Dickson has said: “The incidents that took place in Larne last night were very dangerous and frightening. I am glad to hear that no one was seriously hurt and the occupants trapped inside the property were safely evacuated.
“There is absolutely no place in our society for this violent and threatening behaviour which was intended to inflict terror and potentially harm individuals. The perpetrators of these senseless incidents do not represent the wider community and should be brought to justice.”
Mr Donnelly added: “I am appalled by the incidents that occurred in Larne last night. I am thankful that no one was injured and for the prompt response of the PSNI.
“This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable in our community. The individuals responsible represent no one but themselves and must be held accountable for their reckless actions.
“Anyone with information about the incidents I urge you to contact the police on 101 quoting reference 26 of 16/08/24 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
