This Thursday, Claire Hackett (Mid-Ulster Representative) and Paula Bradshaw MLA are hosting an open public meeting to discuss recent changes to visitor arrangements in maternity services in the trust. Due to rising Covid-19 cases, partners will no longer be able to visit those receiving care.
We have heard throughout the pandemic of the impact that visiting restrictions have had on women, birthing people and their partners. They have experienced fear and anxiety attending appointments alone, worrying about whether their partner will attend the birth and then of recovering alone. This has an impact on the mental health of the new family. Restrictions need to be proportionate and we understand that people are struggling to understand how this is the case at this stage of the pandemic.
Everyone is very welcome to come along and have their voice heard. Please sign up below to receive the Zoom link for the meeting and to be kept updated on any further developments.
