The 2011 Planning Act saw the biggest shake-up of Northern Ireland’s planning system in generations, devolving power to councils to decide on local and major planning applications. The Department for Infrastructure is currently conducting a formal review of the effectiveness of the Planning Act, and the Alliance Party wants to hear directly from members to inform our response to the consultation.
On Thursday the 4th of March at 7pm, as the Alliance Party Infrastructure spokesperson I will be leading a virtual members discussion on the Planning Act. This is an opportunity for members to be part of an engaging and informative discussion about the current state of our planning system, and how we can improve it.
The discussion will take place on Zoom and will last approximately an hour and a half. As well as a presentation, the discussion will include breakout rooms led by local councillors with knowledge of the planning system.
All members are welcome, including those that have a lot of experience of the planning system as well as those that do not.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP below. The Zoom link will be sent out closer to the event.
