Patrick's priorities for South Down
1. Protecting the environment
Patrick has led the charge on environmental issues in Local Government, leading campaigns in Council to declare a climate emergency, support a local Green New Deal, divest Councillor’s pensions from fossil fuel companies, establishing a climate and sustainability forum and installing renewable energy in community centres.
2. Fighting for economic security
I am a passionate advocate of Universal Basic Income and as an MLA would campaign tirelessly for the introduction of a UBI which could tackle poverty, provide a fairer welfare system and transform our society
3. Political participation
I'm passionate about improving our political systems in Northern Ireland, and encouraging involvement in politics, particularly amongst young people. If elected I will explore ways to boost political participation and make voting more accessible.
