Alliance Bangor West Councillor Connie Egan has said those who smashed the windscreen of a police car in the town are guilty of “a shameful attack”.
Police were responding to a call out in the Ballyferris Walk area in the early hours of Friday when the car, which was parked in the street, was attacked and extensively damaged.
“This is a shameful attack on our police service, who work hard to keep everyone in our community safe,” said Councillor Egan.
“Those who did this do not speak for or represent the vast majority of the people of Bangor. All they have done is harm their own community, as residents will now have one less police car protecting them thanks to this senseless incident.
“I urge anyone with information on this to contact police or provide information to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
