Over recent months the anti-social behaviour in Downpatrick has gotten out of control. Residents have been made to feel like prisoners in their homes, property has been repeatedly targeted and vandalised and these incidents have only escalated with the recent arson at the old hospital site.
Much of this is due to a small group of anti-social individuals often fuelled by drink and drugs, mostly around the Grove/English Street area. It is time we came together as a community and discuss how we can take action to address this problem before it gets even worse.
An in-person meeting is not possible due to Covid, so this meeting will be hosted via Zoom, and this page has been set up to allow you to register for the event. Once registered you will receive a link via email to join the event the day before it takes place. If you are unsure of how to use Zoom or require assistance taking part, please contact Patrick on the details below.
Depending on numbers, we hope everyone will have a chance to have their say, and invites have been issued to various local stakeholders affected by the anti-social behaviour including local businesses, PSNI, Translink, Education Authority, Housing Executive, SE Regional College and many others.
