The North Belfast MLA said: “Since signing up to the recommendations of the Bengoa Report in 2016, Alliance has been fully committed to seeing its implementation."
 
“I hope that this visit from Professor Bengoa will refocus the minds of those who have been unable to make difficult decisions required for the necessary transformation of our health service, and increase the urgency of reform.
 
This news comes as the Minister of Health provided updates on a number of initiatives through his department, including the announcement of a three-year strategic plan for health and social care.
 
“It is welcome to see a focus on stabilisation, reform and delivery as key to ensuring sustainable transformation, something which Alliance has been emphasising on the health committee. I look forward to reviewing this plan once published, hopefully as soon as possible to ensure sufficient opportunity for scrutiny ahead of its three-year implementation."
