Lo welcomes investment in South Belfast hotel12.28.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 14th Aug 2008
Alliance South Belfast MLA Anna Lo has welcomed the news that 10 million pounds will be invested in the Ramada hotel in south Belfast. The investment will create another 60 jobs which will add to the 117 staff members that the hotel currently employs. Lord Rana, Chief Executive of Andras House which owns the Ramada has said that he hopes that there will be further growth. Anna Lo MLA said: "This is great news that such a large amount of money will be invested in the Ramada hotel. The new jobs will be good news given the uncertainty in the economy. The more people we can attract to visit Northern Ireland to spend their money, then the better our economy will be. "This investment shows that the tourism market in Northern Ireland and Belfast in particular, is increasing, which is good for the local economy. "The fact that Lord Rana has stated that he was confident that there will be further growth in the hotel business just shows the good work done by the people in this sector." ENDS
