Lo condemns hijack in Belfast City Centre2.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 8th Jul 2008
South Belfast Alliance MLA Anna Lo has hit out at those involved in the hijack of a car in Belfast city centre yesterday evening. A woman was dragged from her car at College Square North at around 7.50pm yesterday. Anna Lo MLA said: "This despicable hijack took place during the evening at a time when people would have been travelling home from work or returning from shopping in the city centre. I would imagine that people were in the vicinity when this incident took place, so I would appeal to anyone who saw anything of significance to contact the police urgently. "Those involved in this audacious attack are obviously very dangerous so I would call on people in the area to be vigilant against similar events. The perpetrators appeared to have little or no regard for the safety the woman who was subject to this ordeal. "This must have been an extremely traumatic incident for the victim and my thoughts go out to her at this difficult time." ENDS
