Alliance Larne councillor Gerardine Mulvenna

Alliance Larne councillor Gerardine Mulvenna was last night elected Deputy Mayor of Larne Borough Council.

Cllr Mulvenna said: "This is such a privileged position and I hope to continue the good work of my predecessors.

"I believe that the council is in the best position that it has ever been in. We will be able to provide the best possible services for Larne.

"The key themes of my tenure are to support all the local communities and to create a safer place, especially for older people."
