Alliance South Antrim MLA David Ford has welcomed the news that Ballymena bus company Wrightbus has won a contract worth 11 million euros to build 50 buses for Dublin Bus. Dublin Bus currently carries over 150 million passengers annually and already uses 70 buses made by Wrightbus

David Ford MLA said: "This is tremendous news that Wrightbus has won yet another large contract outside of Northern Ireland. This new contract is good news for the local economy, and hopefully there will be more contracts to follow.

"It was only a couple of months ago that I welcomed the contract that Wrightbus won from the FirstGroup bus company based in the UK. Today's developments show that they are clearly a leader in their field.

"I visited Wrightbus last summer where I saw the good work they are doing, and I am sure that their success will continue long into the future."
