Alliance South Antrim MLA David Ford has welcomed the news that Antrim Forum will be used as a pre training camp for the London 2012 Paralympics.

David Ford MLA said: "The Council team has had many successes in recent years, notably the hugely successful all-Ireland Special Olympics, which had more athletes competing in and around the Forum than competed in Belfast.

"I am delighted by this decision to approve the Forum for pre-training. It will enable the staff at the Forum to build on past successes and show this good side of Antrim to further groups of athletes and their support staff."
