Alliance MLA Anna Lo has stated that she is deeply shocked and saddened at the death of a baby who paramedics were treating when their ambulance crashed into a lorry on the M1 this morning. Paramedics were trying to resuscitate the child before the crash and following the accident, but could not revive the infant.

Anna Lo MLA said: "The loss of this young life is totally devastating. These are extremely tragic and shocking circumstances.

"My deepest sympathies go to the family of the baby who passed away. My thoughts are also with those who suffered injuries in the accident.
