Lo stunned at building collapse in Belfast city centre

South Belfast Alliance MLA Anna Lo has said she is stunned and deeply saddened at news of a building collapsing on Victoria Street in Belfast city centre. The incident took place at 10.40 this morning on a construction site close to the Royal Courts of Justice.

Anna Lo MLA said: "I am stunned at this tragic incident. To think that something like this could happen as construction staff are going about their daily work is totally shocking. My thoughts are with those caught up in this terrible accident, and their families.

"The scenes following the building collapse must have been extremely disturbing for everyone in the immediate area.

"We need a full and searching investigation into the circumstances surrounding this deeply distressing incident. "
