Long condemns those involved in Orangfield High School arson attack10.05.00am GMT Mon 10th Mar 2008
Alliance Deputy Leader Naomi Long MLA has expressed disgust at those who carried out an arson attack on Orangefield High School in East Belfast. The blaze was reported to the authorities on Sunday night at 23.25. The East Belfast MLA said: "I was extremely shocked at news of this fire. The circumstances surrounding this incident are very suspicious and this appears to have been an arson attack. "What sort of person would attack a building that is vitally important to the local community? This blaze has caused disruption for school pupils, teachers and parents in the area. Thugs who carry out acts like this need to be brought to justice quickly, as they do nothing but destabilise the community. "I would appeal to anyone with information on this incident to contact police to help them ascertain events leading up to the blaze." ENDS
