McCarthy brands those who hit taxi driver with brick as 'monsters'

Strangford Alliance MLA Kieran McCarthy has expressed shock and revulsion at a brick attack on a taxi driver in Newtownards and has branded the perpetrators monsters. Jackie Anderson was hit by a brick thrown through his taxi's windscreen as he was driving along Portaferry Road in the town on Saturday.

Kieran McCarthy MLA said: "The people who carried out this attack are nothing but monsters.

"This is not the first time that we have seen an attack like this. The people involved in this horrific incident may have carried out similar attacks in the past. We need to see more action on the ground from police to get these dangerous thugs off our streets.

"This attack was horrific. There were other incidents similar to this on Saturday and those involved must be stopped now, before they can cause any more carnage. Anyone with information on the attackers must contact police immediately to bring these thugs to justice."
