Griffin says Executive plans will hit farmers hard10.30.00am GMT Fri 1st Feb 2008
Alliance Dromore by-election candidate David Griffin has slammed the Executive saying their plans will hit local farmers hard. His comments come after the Assembly discussed the Programme for Government. During the debate, even the DUP's William McCrea criticised the deal that local farmers will receive out of future plans. David Griffin said: "This failing Executive's plans will have a massively negative impact on agriculture. "Their plans will not deliver a fair deal for local farmers. Our farmers have a difficult enough job staying afloat in the current circumstances without this Executive's poor plans on agriculture. "Even elements in the DUP are criticising the plans and their negative impact on the agricultural sector. "We are the opposition and we will not settle for a second-rate deal for local farmers." ENDS
