Lynch blasts North Belfast sectarian attacks1.25.00pm GMT Mon 12th Nov 2007 Alliance North Belfast Representative Gerry Lynch has hit out at those involved in sectarian attacks on houses and cars in North Belfast in the early hours of this morning. Windows in two houses and were broken, and six cars were damaged in Serpentine Gardens, Serpentine Park and Serpentine Road at around 3.50am this morning. Gerry Lynch said: "Such despicable and intimidating acts have absolutely no place in this society. Northern Ireland is freeing itself from the shackles of sectarianism and such incidents must not be allowed to hinder this progress. People should be able to feel safe in their homes and these attacks are a real violation of people's property and possessions. "I would appeal to anyone with information on these incidents to contact police immediately. Local residents should not have to live in fear and should be allowed to sleep at night without the spectre of such attacks hanging over them." ENDS
