Alliance Health Spokesperson Kieran McCarthy MLA has praised the work of the Action Cancer Big Bus, which provides men and women with the chance to get a quick health check in towns and villages across Northern Ireland. Mr McCarthy met staff on the vehicle today when it called at Stormont.

Kieran McCarthy MLA said: "The Action Cancer Big Bus is a great initiative and I would like to take this opportunity to praise all those involved in the project.

"This state-of-the-art vehicle has been on the road for just over a year and has had nearly 5,000 people through its doors in that time. It does very important work as regards screening for women and health checks for men.

"This project brings healthcare to the people and this is a very admirable aim. The big bus enables many people who may not get the opportunity to do so, to get important health checks.

"It has travelled to over 200 towns and villages across Northern Ireland and I would encourage everyone who sees the bus to try and visit it for a quick check up."
