Alliance Enterprise Spokesperson Sean Neeson MLA has hit out at the Executive over the way it has handled plans for a new Visitors' Centre at the Giant's Causeway.

The East Antrim Assembly Member said: "I am deeply concerned at future plans for the development of the Giant's Causeway Visitors' Centre. The Executive to all intents and purposes have washed their hands of Northern Ireland's most visited tourist attraction.

"I have very serious reservations about the proposed project being entirely developed by the private sector. This would amount to handing over the family silver. I have already raised this issue at meetings of the Assembly's Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Investment.

"In 2001, I Chaired a series of meetings between all interested parties and failed to achieve a resolution. However, both Direct Rule and Executive Ministers have dragged their feet in making necessary decisions."
