Neeson hails 200 jobs boost for Belfast from Indian IT firm10.10.52am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 29th Jun 2007
Alliance Economy Spokesperson Seán Neeson MLA has strongly welcomed news that an IT company is creating 200 jobs in Belfast, and he stated that the new high-value jobs are a must to expand our economy. Tech Mahindra is an Indian software company which provides IT services and solutions to the telecom industry. He said that today's announcement strengthens the great business links that Northern Ireland has with India, with these jobs bringing the number of people employed by Indian firms here to more than 2,500. The East Antrim MLA stated: "The announcement that Tech Mahindra IT firm is creating 200 jobs in Belfast will provide a real boost locally. "This news further strengthens the excellent business links that Northern Ireland has with India, with these jobs bringing the number of people employed in Indian firms here to over 2,500. "The posts will be high-value ones, and they are exactly what is needed to ensure sustainable economic growth locally. These new positions will strengthen our economy in Northern Ireland. "We have a very highly-skilled, well-trained workforce, and to make progress economically we simply must continue to create the circumstances that allows our local companies to grow while also attracting inward investment."
