Antrim Alliance Councillor Alan Lawther has welcomed news that work has started on the new business park beside Belfast International Airport and he stated that the project will give the Antrim area a massive economic boost. The Gateway project could create up to 8,000 new jobs for the area over the next 15 years and almost 100 acres of land will be transformed by the work.

Cllr Alan Lawther said: "I am very pleased to hear that work has started on the business park. This is a major project and it will have a massively positive impact on this area.

"The Gateway business park will hopefully bring many high value jobs to the local area and provide opportunities for local entrepreneurs to set up their own business.

"The fact that this business park will be situated so close to the International Airport is also good news. It will mean that there is easy access for people who are based overseas and it will be a major factor in attracting foreign investment.
