Alliance North Down Councillor Ian James Parsley has lent strong support to Green MLA Brian Wilson on the issue of bungalow blight in the countryside.

Cllr Parsley explained: "I have no doubt the Opposition in the Assembly will be united against any Executive attempts to allow further bungalow blight in our countryside.

"Northern Ireland is developing measles - with developments here, there and everywhere. It is nonsense to claim this is about inheritance for families, the truth is it is about more and more unplanned development.

"Without proper planning, services will be more expensive to deliver, transport will be more costly to our environment, and our countryside will become utterly unattractive.

"The existing Government proposals may require some amendment, but any attempt to overturn them outright must be challenged strongly."
