Alliance backs prospect of boost for Ballymena firm from Irish Government11.01.11am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 5th Apr 2007
North Antrim Alliance Representative Jayne Dunlop has welcomed the prospect of a jobs boost for the Wrightbus company which is based in Ballymena. It is expected that the Irish Transport Minister Martin Cullen will announce a contract to manufacture buses for the Republic of Ireland on a visit to the firm. Jayne Dunlop said: "I am pleased that it looks like Ballymena will receive a jobs boost with the prospect of the announcement on the contract for Wrightbus. "It is also very pleasing to see the Irish Government choosing a local firm for this lucrative deal. Such moves illustrate the importance of North-South co-operation. I hope that this co-operation can be developed and further benefits can be gained form this link." ENDS
