Alliance Deputy Leader hopes Bombardier boost will mean new jobs at Shorts

Alliance Deputy Leader Naomi Long has welcomed news that Bombardier hopes to produce part of a new jet at Shorts in East Belfast. Bombardier today announced that it hopes to design and build the fuselage of the CRJ1000 jet at Shorts.

The East Belfast Representative said: "This news will hopefully provide a much needed boost for people at Shorts and for the community in East Belfast.

"I hope that Bombardier can deliver this deal, as it will ensure that the company can build for the future and create more jobs.

"This news underlines the high quality of work carried out at Shorts and I hope that it is a sign of positive developments to come."
