East Belfast Alliance Representative Naomi Long

East Belfast Alliance Representative Naomi Long, has condemned those who undertook an armed robbery in East Belfast during which a shot is believed to have been fired. Four masked men entered the premises on the Holywood Road at about shortly before 8.30pm on Friday evening.

Cllr Long, a Member and former Chair of East Belfast DPP, said, "This is a shocking and disturbing incident carried out in the early evening. The robbers displayed a wanton disregard for the lives of the staff and the customers, and I am thankful that no-one was hurt in what must have been a terrifying ordeal for those involved.

"I would appeal for anyone who knows anything which would help to bring these individuals to justice to report it to the police at Strandtown, as clearly they represent a real danger to the entire community."
