Belfast Alliance Councillor Maíre Hendron has backed a £140,000 Housing Executive improvement scheme for East Belfast. This work will be carried out on the areas around the housing on the Woodstock Road.

The Alliance Councillor for the area, Maíre Hendron said: "I welcome this scheme as it will provide a boost to the local area and will help in the regeneration of the locality.

"This scheme will be ongoing for about six months and will help create better open spaces around houses in the Woodstock Road area.

"It will also help improve security for local residents as they will be provided with new fences for their property."

"Any improvement scheme which has the backing of local residents is to be welcomed."
