Castlereagh Alliance Councillor, Sara Duncan, has expressed her disgust at the thugs who robbed an 80-year-old man in his home on the Newtownbreda Road. The robbery took place at 3pm yesterday afternoon.

Cllr Sara Duncan said: "I am absolutely sickened by this break-in. This was an horrific attack. There are a number of older people living in this area and unfortunately they will feel very vulnerable following this incident.

"I was also appalled when I heard about the incident in West Belfast, where a woman in her 70s was robbed in her house yesterday evening. Those that committed these break-ins are a disgrace and have carried out the most cowardly of acts.

"I hope that the thugs who were involved in these robberies are swiftly brought to justice, and I call on anyone with information on these incidents to contact police immediately."
