Belfast Alliance Party Councillor, Maíre Hendron, has stated that the creation of an £8 million business park in East Belfast will provide a much-needed boost to the economy in the area. The business park, which will be situated in four acres of derelict land at Ormeau Embankment and Ravenhill Reach, will provide around 270 jobs and was launched by Minister David Hanson. It is expected that the first phase of development will begin at Ravenhill Reach in June 2007

The Alliance Councillor for the area, Maíre Hendron said: "East Belfast has for a long time deserved the provision of high value employment. The area needs to see more high quality and high value jobs being created, in order to use the skills of people in the locality to their full potential.

"Its great news for East Belfast that potentially 270 jobs will be created in this £8 million venture. It will give the local economy and local confidence a much-needed boost."
