Dunlop encourages young people to get involved in Ballymena youth forum11.12.36am GMT Fri 25th Aug 2006
Ballymena Alliance Representative Jayne Dunlop has encouraged all local young people to become involved in youth forum in Ballymena. Her comments follows the news that the police will incorporate the views of the forum, which was set up after the murder of Michael McIlveen, in their next policing plan for Ballymena. Jayne Dunlop said: "I would encourage young people from every background to get involved in it to make sure that their voice is heard. "This scheme provides young people with a positive way to put their views across to the police and allows them to have an input into decisions made about policing in Ballymena. "I am very pleased that the police are engaging with this group and are taking their views into account. This scheme will hopefully decrease community tension and build positive relationships in the town." ENDS
