Alliance North Down Councillor Ian James Parsley has expressed shock at an attack on an elderly man in Holywood in broad daylight yesterday evening [17th].

The Holywood representative stated: "People will be horrified that there are those within the community who find it acceptable to attack an 80-year-old man at all. That this attack happened in broad daylight will only heighten the shock.

"This sort of behaviour has no place in any society. People must be free to enjoy the town, and people must know that people who have served the community for so long will be respected, not attacked.

"I would urge anyone who feels they saw anything to refer that information to the police."
