Alliance Party Vice Chair Michael Long has welcomed the launch of a new mural in the Cregagh area to commemorate George Best. It will replace a paramilitary mural, which overlooks a primary school.

The Castlereagh Councillor and Party Sports spokesperson stated: "I am delighted a paramilitary mural is being replaced, and it is entirely apt that it is replaced with a tribute to George Best. It is good to see the local community providing a more positive role model for local children.

"Alliance has been campaigning for such a change for several years, particularly given the location overlooking Cregagh Primary School.

"Children should never have had to look out at a paramilitary mural, and I am glad they will now be looking at Cregagh's most famous son, a true sporting legend.

"This mural will help to inspire them to become the best they can be."
