Alliance Remembers Mr Nigel Williams, the NI Children's Commissioner.5.43.25pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 28th Mar 2006 Joint statement from David Ford MLA, Party Leader, Eileen Bell MLA, Party Equality Spokesperson, and Cllr Ian James Parsley, Chair of Young Alliance: "It is with sincere shock and regret we in the Alliance Party hear of the passing of Mr Nigel Williams, the NI Children's Commissioner. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family circle and friends at this time, and with his colleagues at the Commission. "Mr Williams fought a brave battle against long-term illness, and did not allow it to be a hindrance to his carrying out his functions to make a difference for children and young people growing up in Northern Ireland. "I know his passing will leave a significant gap for all those who knew him and worked with him." ENDS
