Long condemns petrol bomb attacks

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 5th Jul 2005

Castlereagh Alliance Councillor, Michael Long, has condemned those behind the petrol bombing of two houses on Breda Road in Newtownbreda.

Cllr Long said: "I strongly condemn those who carried out these horrific attacks on two houses in Breda Road."

"Such acts of terrorism and intimidation are deplorable and have no place in a just and peaceful society.

"These bombings are the third paramilitary style attack to have occurred within the Borough of Castlereagh in the past week. I am hoping to discuss the matter with the Police within the next few days and will raise my concerns regarding paramilitary activity in the area.

"I wish to appeal for calm within the area and I would request that anyone with information on these incidents should contact Police immediately."
