Parsley welcomes PSNI removal of flags12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 21st Jun 2005 Holywood Councillor Ian Parsley has welcomed the removal of 30 paramilitary flags in Loughview Estate. The Alliance man stated: "The people of Loughview are sick and tired of their estate being abused by a small group of people displaying support for proscribed organizations. The PSNI's operations to charge people for showing support for such groups, and to remove the flags associated with them, are very welcome. "Alliance Councillors met the PSNI to discuss this issue last Thursday and we are pleased with this follow-up on Friday night. We welcome the strategy being adopted to return Loughview to its rightful owners -- namely the people who live there. Loughview should be a place where people are proud to bring up their children, where they are proud to host visitors, and that they are proud to call home. A small number of people are determined to spoil it for everyone, and they must be stopped." ENDS
