Rice saddened by discovery of baby's body

Alliance Castlereagh Councillor Geraldine Rice has expressed her sadness after the body of a newborn baby was found in Carryduff, outside Belfast.

Cllr Rice, who lives in Carryduff, said: "This is a terribly tragic discovery, and this news has shocked and saddened people in Carryduff."

"While it is too late to do anything for this baby, our concern must now be for the child's mother and I would urge her to come forward, as she may need medical attention."
