Alliance appeal over abduction attempt

Castlereagh Alliance Councillor, Michael Long, has expressed his great concern at reports of an attempted abdcution of a 16 - year old girl in Glenview Avenue in Castlereagh on Wednesday night.

Cllr Long has appealed to anyone with any information about the incident to contact the PSNI.

Michael Long stated:

"I was appalled to learn of this dreadful incident which occurred in such a quiet residential area. Given what we have seen unfolding over the past week in England, one can only be thankful that the attempted abduction failed."

"At this terrible time, I would like to extend my best wishes to the girl involved and I would appeal to anyone with any information to contact the police imeediately so that the culprit can be apprehended."
